Harrow Sports Announces New Post-Collegiate Field Hockey Tournament
Harrow Cup fulfills lack of post-collegiate field hockey play
February 15th, 2013, Denver, CO Harrow Sports today announced they will host Harrow Cup, a new
post-collegiate field hockey tournament to provide adult players a way to fill the void of competitive field
hockey. Eight teams are expected to compete in the inaugural tournament.
"Offering post-collegiate players an opportunity to compete in an event of this magnitude will extend their
hockey playing careers," said University of Maryland Head Field Hockey Coach, Missy Meharg. Too
frequently NCAA players simply stop playing after college due to the lack of a structured post-college
playing environment. My hope is that the Harrow Cup tournament will underscore the need for a semiprofessional competitive league in the United States."
With a $10,000 winner takes all cash prize, the Harrow Cup will be the highest paying field hockey
tournament in America. Uniforms and equipment will be provided by Harrow Sports, free of charge.
Registration will be open from February 15th until March 1st. Players will be assigned to teams via Harrow
Cup Draft on March 15th
"As a constant supporter of growing the game at all levels, Harrow is thrilled to be leading the charge in
post-collegiate play. We believe this is currently the most under-served market in hockey and look forward
to extending the careers of so many talented athletes." said Alli Tanner, Harrow Field Hockey Brand
Manager.
The event is June 8-9 2013 at Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
